Supporting Our Brave

Supporting Our Brave is a registered Community Interest Company (CIC) Registered No. 7366775 which was formed to offer a range of services for the Veteran, members of our Armed Forces and their families. The directors, staff and vast majority of the volunteers are Veterans themselves and work on a ‘mates helping mates’ attitude. Care, consideration and a sympathetic attitude is always shown to visitors whether just visiting the free admission exhibition or someone seeking help and advice.

There are an estimated 4 million veterans alive today. A veteran is classed as anyone who has served in HM Armed Forces. Each year 26,000 leave the forces and return to civilian life.
Most lead full and productive lives in the community but sadly some do not. There are an estimated 8,500 veterans in prison who have fallen by the wayside.

The Ministry of Defence figures show that up to 2,000 members of the armed services are being diagnosed every year with a psychiatric condition after serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. This includes Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Homelessness amongst Veterans is a problem everywhere. In London alone there are an estimated 1,000 rough sleepers who have served in HM Armed Forces.
